Campus Ministry
Serves as the spiritual heartbeat of Bishop Luers, offering opportunities for worship, reflection, and servant leadership. Through Mass, retreats, outreach, and small-group faith life, students discover what it means to be Christ-centered leaders.
Founded upon the traditions and principles of the Catholic Church, our campus ministry invites students of all faiths and backgrounds to pursue personal and spiritual growth through daily liturgy, retreats, service opportunities, peer ministry, and pastoral counseling.
Campus Ministry in Action
CLASS RETREATS
Students at Bishop Luers High School have access to a wide variety of retreat opportunities. Each grade level participates in its designated day retreat during the school year. Students are invited to join various retreats hosted by the Franciscan Sisters in Mishawaka, Indiana, as well as the ND Vision retreats at the University of Notre Dame.
INDIANA MARCH FOR LIFE Bishop Luers students actively participate in the Indiana March for Life event held annually in Indianapolis. Our students join hundreds of youth from across the State to attend a Mass and walk in witness for life on the streets of the state capital. Through this pilgrimage we live our school motto—as “light of the world”—by bearing witness to the dignity of every human life. Students from Bishop Luers have spoken of how meaningful it is to stand together in prayer and march for life, recognizing that although national precedent has changed, the work continues on the state and local level.
This experience deepens our spiritual life, strengthens our community bonds, and empowers our young people to take an active role in promoting a culture of life. Each participant returns to campus inspired to live out the Gospel call in all parts of their lives.
PASTORAL COUNSELING
Our students and staff are blessed to have area priests available to celebrate Mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Fr. Samuel Martinez and Fr. Paola Degasperi serve as our school chaplains. In addition, our chaplains, pastoral minister, and principal are available to students, faculty, parents, and families for individual pastoral guidance, support, and referrals.
