Capital Campaign

At Bishop Luers High School, our mission to educate the whole person—intellectually, physically, creatively, and spiritually—guides everything we do. As we look to the future, we are investing in the spaces and opportunities that will allow generations of Knights to learn, grow, discover their talents, and thrive.

Our Capital Campaign represents a transformational investment in the future of Bishop Luers, with a focus on two key priorities:

• Facility Enhancements – Classrooms & Cafeteria

• Construction of a New Auxiliary Gymnasium with Integrated Performing Arts Stage & Luers Fieldhouse

These improvements will strengthen the student experience both inside and outside the classroom, providing enhanced spaces for academics, athletics, performing arts, student activities, and community gatherings.

More than a building project, this campaign is an investment in our students, faculty, families, and community—and in the continued strength of Bishop Luers High School for generations to come.

Facility Revitalization - $2.5M

We are reimagining our learning and gathering spaces to support academic excellence and student well-being:

• Classroom Upgrades: New flooring, lighting, ceilings, technology, and modern furniture to create an optimal learning environment. Construction on 16 classrooms completed in Summer 2025. Remainder of classrooms to be completed in 2027.
• Cafeteria Renovation: Updated floors, windows, ceilings, lighting, tables and seating to encourage connection and community.

New Auxiliary Gym with Performing Arts Stage & Luers Fieldhouse- $11.5M

To support both athletic and artistic excellence, we are adding a state-of-the-art facility that includes:

• Auxiliary Gymnasium
• Performing Arts Stage
• Hall of Fame
• Concessions and Restrooms
• Weight Room, Training Room and Additional Offices

Why This Project Matters

For decades, Bishop Luers has been a cornerstone of southeast Fort Wayne—educating generations of students while serving as a gathering place for families, alumni, parish communities, and neighbors. As our programs continue to grow and the needs of our students evolve, our facilities must grow with them.

Today, a single gymnasium must accommodate physical education classes, athletic practices and competitions, school programs, special events, and many other activities. The demand for space often requires programs to compete for limited time and forces practices, performances, and events into spaces that were not designed for them.

The new Bishop Luers Athletic Complex will help change that.

This flexible, multi-purpose facility will create much-needed space for athletic practices, freshman and junior varsity competitions, academic competitions, Show Choir, theater and performing arts productions, student activities, and school-wide celebrations. The integrated stage will provide our talented student performers with a dedicated setting to rehearse and perform while allowing Bishop Luers to expand opportunities for audiences and special events.

Just as importantly, this facility is being designed to serve beyond the walls of Bishop Luers.

As a longstanding anchor in southeast Fort Wayne, Bishop Luers has an opportunity to create a space that brings people together. The new facility can serve as a community hub for gatherings, educational programs, health and wellness initiatives, job and resource fairs, youth activities, service projects, and other events that strengthen connections throughout our surrounding neighborhoods.

This is more than an expansion of our campus. It is an investment in the vitality of southeast Fort Wayne and in Bishop Luers' ability to continue serving students, families, and the greater community for generations to come.

Through this campaign, we are laying the foundation for the next generation of Knights—young people prepared to lead with faith, courage, service, and purpose.
