Today BLHS had their Fall Sodalitas In-House Service Day!
BLHS seniors participated in a Refugee Simulation with Catholic Charities. Other service activities included making pet blankets for Animal Care and Control and cleaning/sorting seeds for Eagle Marsh. Representatives from all three organizations spoke to the students about what they do in the community and about volunteer opportunities.

Principal Scott Kreiger presented this year's Outstanding Honorary Alumnus award to Matt and Susan Schenkel. Congratulations! The Distinguished Knight award will be presented at the Battle of the Bishops football game on Friday, September 29th.

Summary: Seven wildly funny comedians, including the landlady, live in Shotzie Starr's boarding house. The only "normal" resident is Shotzie's granddaughter whose pizza delivering boyfriend is you guessed it an aspiring comedian. The action at Shotzie's becomes manic when bumbling kidnappers crash their van and take refuge there with their victim, a haughty socialite, in tow. Police surround the house and the unrestrainable comics are suddenly in the proximity of reporters' TV cameras. All hilarity breaks loose, on stage and in the audience!

On Thursday, September 7th, BLHS faculty joined other teachers from Catholic schools in the Fort Wayne area for Catholic School Mission Day at Bishop Dwenger High School. Guest speaker Fr. Agustino Torres, CFR discussed the importance of the Holy Eucharist and building a Eucharistic culture. Bishop Kevin Rhoades celebrated Mass for all of the teachers in attendance. Congratulations to all teachers who received awards/were recognized for their years of service to our Diocese!

It's Homecoming week!! Yesterday's dress up theme was Vacation vs. Staycation, and today's theme is Past vs Future!
We are excited for Friday night! Join us for a family friendly pre-game party at 4:30pm in the Friary parking lot (northwest side of the school). It's going to be a great time! BLHS alumnus Andy Mauch will be providing music. We will also have food trucks, yard games, and face painting! Kickoff is at 7pm.

Today was Curriculum Day at BLHS. Guest speaker Brett Salkeld discussed how Catholic teaching can be integrated in different ways in the curriculum.
Our Bishop Luers Broadcasting team livestreamed the event for the Diocese to view. Thank you BLHS Broadcasting!
Teachers then attended a breakout session and had collaboration time with their individual departments.
