Our students had a great experience this past Wednesday at the Future in Insurance event. Thank you to Brotherhood Mutual for hosting and for showing our students the wide range of career opportunities available in the insurance field.
Students had the chance to learn from professionals representing MedPro Group, Brotherhood Mutual, American Securities, DOXA Insurance Holdings, and Lincoln Financial Group. Experiences like this help students see how classroom learning connects to real careers.
As always, thank you to Dr. Ginder from GROW Allen for making sure our students are included in these meaningful opportunities. We are grateful for community partners who invest in our students and their futures.

Today 11 Anatomy students competed at the Anatomage tournament at Saint Francis. The tournament challenges teams to locate anatomical structures on a virtual cadaver. The day was packed full of activities such as making and analyzing a slide of bacteria in the microbiology lab, looking at various organs, a visit to the cadaver lab, experiencing what it is like to be a surgery technician, suturing pigs feet, and participating in the Anatomage competition. We did not make it to the final rounds, but a lot of fun and learning was had.

The Bishop Luers High School community is deeply saddened by the passing of Fr. Bill Sullivan this morning. A Bishop Luers Alumnus (Class of '64), Fr. Bill was a constant supporter of the school and could be found at nearly every football game, basketball game, and theater performance. His presence will be greatly missed. May he rest in the peace of Christ.

During Black History Month, we honor Black Catholics who shaped the Catholic Church through faith, courage, and perseverance. Today we highlight Fr. Augustus Tolton, the first recognized Black Catholic Priest in the United States.
Born into slavery, Fr. Tolton overcame tremendous obstacles to answer God’s call to the priesthood. Despite facing rejection and discrimination, he remained steadfast in faith, humility, and love — becoming a powerful sign of hope and perseverance for the Church in the United States.
Venerable Augustus Tolton, pray for us. ✝️

Today is National Random Acts of Kindness Day! ❤️🖤❤️
A small act can make a big difference — a compliment, a coffee for a stranger, a kind message, or simply holding the door open.
Kindness costs nothing, but means everything. Let’s make someone’s day brighter 💫

During Black History Month, we honor Black Catholics who shaped the Catholic Church through faith, courage, and perseverance. Today we highlight Servant of God Sister Thea Bowman — educator, evangelist, and joyful witness to Christ.
A Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration, Sr. Thea dedicated her life to teaching, preaching, and calling the Church to deeper unity. She reminded us that diversity is not a challenge to the Church — it is a gift.
