The St. John's Catholic School Read-A-Thon involved some mystery readers this year. Bishop Luers Boys Basketball athletes made videos of themselves reading a book (with their faces obscured), then the St. John's students had to guess the mystery reader. Today they found out who the readers were!

Congratulations to Stephanie Martinez who was selected as an awards recipient for the University of Saint Francis Annual High School Exhibition! A total of 180 student works from 20 schools were exhibited this year, and only a small number were selected to receive awards. Stephanie is being honored for her portrait of St. Elizabeth of Hungary, made entirely with yarn! She is an exceptionally talented artist.
Bishop Luers has 10 students with artwork currently on display in the High School Exhibition. Along with Stephanie Martinez, the artists are: Graciela Nino, Bianca Vega, Keith Williams, Sophia Colon Pinedo, Adelaide Gatchell, Jack Klinger, Victoria Koenig, Luisa Koenig, and Aliviyah Gray. We had so many events going on this weekend! Bishop Luers Show Choir had a strong performance at Carroll HS. Girls Basketball competed in the sectional championship game, ending their season with a loss to Whitko HS. Wrestling season ended at Regionals on Saturday. Boys Basketball competed, with JV and V clinching wins vs. DeKalb. Girls Swim team season ended at the sectional final. They finished in 8th place, beating teams twice their size. Congrats to Marie Lepley, who set a new record in the 200 freestyle!

Bishop Luers Parents - Road conditions changed quickly this morning due to untimely snowfall. If conditions are unsafe, you are not required to bring your student or allow them to drive today. Weather-related absences will be excused. Safety first.
Today Bishop Luers High School held the Winter Sodalitas In-House Day of Service! Students saved local organizations $17,400 during their work this morning. They completed the following:
80 fleece cat blankets for Animal Care and Control
8 kid blankets and 600 clothing tags for Christ Child Society
1000 tied ribbons for Vera Bradley to hang downtown during Breast Cancer Awareness
1000 thank you notes for veterans (Honor Flight, VA Hospital, nursing homes) and nurses (various hospitals, nursing homes, doctor's offices, etc), also 100 notes for breast cancer patients
300 sack lunches for the Rescue Mission
