The Intro to 3D class has been working on portraits of Catholic Saints made entirely out of wire. The students each picked a saint to research, and then created a contour line drawing portrait. The line drawing was the base for the wire sculpture. They are currently creating pedestals for the sculptures with the name and symbols of their chosen Saint.
The Advanced 3D class has been working on creating realistic shoe sculptures entirely made from cardboard. They first learned about the environmental impact of the mass production of sneakers, and then chose a real shoe to recreate in recyclable materials. They first used paper, and then cardboard. It has been a challenging and extremely messy project!

Biology students were given 3 minutes to find as many "camouflaged" butterflies as they could in the Media Center today. Some hiding spots were very clever!

Students in Mrs. Goodin's and Ms. Brigg's biology classes met in the Media Center for an activity today. They colored paper butterflies in order for them to blend in to the Media Center walls/surroundings, representing adaptation. The goal is to give their butterfly the best opportunity to survive the "hunt" tomorrow.
