The Spell Bowl team finished 1st in Class 3 at the area meet at Homestead High School Monday evening. Elizabeth Stachofsky had a “near perfect” round to help Bishop Luers in their come from behind victory. Overall, the team finished 12th out of 33 schools statewide. During the season, we have had multiple students achieve personal best rounds. Nick Baker has scored “near perfect” in two virtual competitions and Ella Funk had a near perfect round at the in person meet at New Haven High School. English 9 classes visited LC Nature Park as part of a unit on non-fiction essays earlier this week. Following the fieldtrip, students are writing reflective essays on their experience on the hike. #LuersSpirit

The Intro to Business students completed a project “Cemetery of Dead Brands.” The tombstones are brands that are no longer with us; the ghosts are brands that almost died and were revived. #LuersSpirit

The Knights travel to Jay County HS for the IHSAA Sectional 28 game this Friday, November 1 at 7pm. Come cheer on the team! Admission: $7 per IHSAA (preschool free). The link for General Admission tickets can be found at www.ihsaa.org. Gates will open 60 minutes prior to the game. Due to a recent tornado hitting Jay County's school, a Parking Map is attached because of temporary classrooms setup in their parking lot. #LuersSpirit

Nationally renowned Catholic speaker and comedian Paul J. Kim visited Bishop Luers High School last week. His talk at the student assembly, titled ”Meant to Live for More,” included his personal testimony about how he encountered Christ and His transformative grace. Paul spoke about how Christ is the only One who will truly satisfy the human heart, not passing things such as possessions, relationships, and achievements. He ended with an invitation to students to dialogue with Christ in prayer. Paul returned to school the next day to speak at the Staff Retreat, where he exhorted teachers and staff to live out their faith in the classroom. #LuersSpirit
