On Thursday, September 7th, BLHS faculty joined other teachers from Catholic schools in the Fort Wayne area for Catholic School Mission Day at Bishop Dwenger High School. Guest speaker Fr. Agustino Torres, CFR discussed the importance of the Holy Eucharist and building a Eucharistic culture. Bishop Kevin Rhoades celebrated Mass for all of the teachers in attendance. Congratulations to all teachers who received awards/were recognized for their years of service to our Diocese! It's Homecoming week!! Yesterday's dress up theme was Vacation vs. Staycation, and today's theme is Past vs Future! We are excited for Friday night! Join us for a family friendly pre-game party at 4:30pm in the Friary parking lot (northwest side of the school). It's going to be a great time! BLHS alumnus Andy Mauch will be providing music. We will also have food trucks, yard games, and face painting! Kickoff is at 7pm. #LuersSpirit

Today was Curriculum Day at BLHS. Guest speaker Brett Salkeld discussed how Catholic teaching can be integrated in different ways in the curriculum. Our Bishop Luers Broadcasting team livestreamed the event for the Diocese to view. Thank you BLHS Broadcasting! Teachers then attended a breakout session and had collaboration time with their individual departments. #LuersSpirit

On Monday, August 28, Bishop Luers National Honors Society traveled to Camp Potawatomi for the school day. They took part in various activities to aid in building leadership skills. The students climbed a 60-foot rock wall, made boats out of cardboard and duct tape, and participated in a jump rope activity focusing on communicating with peers. This field trip accomplished the National Honors Society’s goal of focusing on the Pillar of Leadership. #LuersSpirit

BLHS has so many amazing things happening lately, and we had the largest incoming freshman class in a decade this fall (160)! Providing these experiences for all of these students comes with expenses. The BLHS Pep Band brought the party to St. Joseph Hessen Cassel and St. John the Baptist FW students today! Band Director Adam Hanke talked with students about the different instruments and gave them the opportunity to ask questions. The Pep Band performed several songs, including the BLHS fight song.
