On Sunday, April 27, Bishop Luers High School held the National Honor Society Mass and Induction Ceremony in the Chapel of Saint Francis of Assisi. 30 new members were inducted, and 25 NHS graduating seniors were recognized. Congratulations to all! #LuersSpirit

Bishop Luers High School is headed to STATE! Last Friday, Bishop Luers High School participated in a Sodalitas Day of Service in the community, completing approximately 1500 service hours and saving an estimated $50,235 in labor for the organizations they served! The entire school went out in small groups to the following locations: Catholic Charities of Fort Wayne - South Bend Christ Child Society Fort Wayne Community Harvest Food Bank - Fort Wayne Lutheran Life Villages Most Precious Blood Parish Saint Anne Communities - Randallia Place St. Aloysius Catholic Church & School, Yoder, Indiana St. Joseph Hessen Cassel School and Church St. Joseph Catholic Church FW Saint Peter's Catholic Church Saint Therese Catholic Church St. Vincent de Paul Society - Fort Wayne Wellspring Interfaith Social Services Activities included visiting school children, the elderly, grounds work, cleaning, sorting clothing, and much more! A note from Bishop Luers Interim Principal Seth Coffing: “Give your hands to serve, and your hearts to love.” - Mother Teresa “One of our main pillars at Luers is serving God and others in a global and changing society. Our students once again did a phenomenal job of representing Bishop Luers with service projects at numerous locations. A huge thank you to Heather Briggs and Jenny Andorfer organizing these projects! Great job by everyone involved! The students all did a fantastic job. From building a playhouse for our preschoolers to raking leaves! It was a HUGE help. Their landscaping skills were incredible. Bishop Luers High School is excited to announce the launch of its Career Readiness Program, in partnership with the University of Saint Francis and Leffler Academy! This program will provide Bishop Luers students with valuable exposure to college and career preparation – giving them a head start upon graduation. Junior and senior students will have the opportunity to take entry-level college courses in the health sciences and education fields, with the option to earn dual credit, acquire 75 clinical hours, and receive a certification. Beginning in Fall 2025, pathways will include Education and CNA programs, with exposure to Phlebotomy, Electrocardiography, EMT, LPN, and Medical Billing. All courses will be taught on the campus of the University of Saint Francis. Also within this Career Readiness Program, Bishop Luers is working to expand its Career Technical Acadamy (CTE) offerings for students. Congratulations to Mrs. Brough, who officially received the Bishop Luers 2024-25 Christ the Teacher Award from Bishop Rhoades today! Congratulations also to Mrs. Karst, who received the prestigious Monsignor J. William Lester Award today. Diane Karst worked at Bishop Luers High School for over 35 years as a math teacher. Now retired, she still supports the school at athletic events. Well deserved! #LuersSpirit

Mrs. Krouse's theater class visited St. Aloysius Catholic School last week to perform Belle and the Beast for Pre-K through 4th grade students. The class also taught the audience the process of applying stage makeup. Such a fun day! #LuersSpirit
