Students,

You asked, and we listened!

We are excited to share that this year’s Homecoming Dance will be formal/semi-formal, and Bishop Luers students may bring approved outside guests! We know these were two things our students really wanted, and we’re happy to make them happen. With that comes a few important expectations, so please take a few minutes to read through the information below. Our goal is to make Homecoming a fun and memorable night for everyone!

BISHOP LUERS HOMECOMING DANCE

Saturday, September 26 | 8:00–11:00 PM | Bishop Luers Gym

BRINGING AN OUTSIDE GUEST?

Absolutely! Outside guests are welcome, but they must be approved prior to the dance.

Here’s how the process works:

  1. The Bishop Luers student picks up a Guest Pass Request/Contract from the library or prints from attached.

  2. The outside guest takes the form to an administrator at their school to be signed.

  3. A copy of the guest’s photo ID, such as a school ID or driver’s license, must be attached.

  4. The Bishop Luers student returns the completed form to Mrs. Gould in the library.

Guest forms are due no later than the Friday(September 18th) before the dance. Late forms cannot be accepted.

Outside guests must be 20 years old or younger, may not have been expelled from Bishop Luers High School, and are expected to follow all Bishop Luers rules, dress code, and conduct expectations.

Outside guests must attend with a current Bishop Luers student.

HOMECOMING DRESS CODE

Homecoming will be a formal/semi-formal dance this year. Students may wear suits, dress pants, button-down shirts, ties, jackets, formal or semi-formal dresses, or similar attire.

Dresses may be short or long and should follow these guidelines:

  • Dresses should fit appropriately and not be excessively tight or cling to the body.

  • Dresses should remain an appropriate length while dancing and should not ride up.

  • Hemlines may be no shorter than 4 inches above the knee.

  • Slits may extend no higher than 4 inches above the knee.

  • The back of the dress may be no lower than the traditional bra line.

  • Low or plunging necklines that reveal visible cleavage are not permitted.

  • Visible midriffs or cut-outs below the traditional bra line are not permitted.

  • See-through or bare sides are not permitted.

NOT SURE ABOUT YOUR DRESS?

Please ask us ahead of time! We would much rather answer a question before the dance than have a student arrive and find out that an outfit does not meet the dress code.

Students are welcome to email a picture of their dress to Mrs. Gould or Mrs. Allen for approval.

QUESTIONS?

Stop by the library and see Mrs. Gould for guest forms, completed form drop-off, cash ticket purchases, or any other Homecoming questions.

We’re excited to make these changes based on student feedback and are looking forward to a great night together. Thank you in advance for helping us make this a fun, safe, and successful Homecoming for everyone!

We’ll see you in Candyland!
