Greg LaMaster - The Bishop Luers community is proud to honor Greg LaMaster, Class of 1975, as the 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient.

Greg’s dedication to Luers has been a constant thread throughout his life. His passion for Luers athletics began as a student and has only grown stronger over the years.

In 2001, Greg began filming Luers football games, a role he has carried with tireless devotion ever since. His commitment has extended far beyond football. He has filmed for track and field, pole vaulting, wrestling, and both boys’ and girls’ basketball and more. Today, he continues to video varsity football, staying up late Friday nights to download and prepare the footage so Coach Lindsay and his staff will have it ready for Saturday morning meetings. In addition, Greg is a proud member of the “Field Dads,” working behind the scenes to keep Luers Field ready for these Friday night lights. His quiet consistency and love for Bishop Luers athletics make a lasting difference for players, coaches, and fans alike.

Greg and his wife, Arlis, have been married for 43 years, building a life rooted in faith, family, and Luers Spirit. Together they raised four children: Chris (Class of 2001), Mike (Class of 2004), Joe (Class of 2007), and Andrew (Class of 2008), and all proud Bishop Luers graduates. Greg’s children share that they are endlessly grateful for their dad: for being an amazing father, the best life coach, and for shaping them into the men they are today. Arlis adds that she is proud beyond words, honored to witness Greg pouring his love and passions back into the Luers community in ways big and small.

Greg’s story is one of loyalty, love, and selflessness. Qualities that define the Bishop Luers family. We celebrate not only his past accomplishments but the daily ways he continues to give back. On behalf of the entire Luers community, we say thank you, Greg, for your devotion, your example, and your enduring Luers Spirit. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor.

Anthony and Marcia McDowell - The Bishop Luers community is proud to honor Marcia and Anthony McDowell as Honorary Alumni. Though they are not graduates of Bishop Luers, they embody the very heart of the Luers Spirit, giving generously of their time, talent, and treasure.

Marcia and Anthony have been loyal supporters of the Performing Arts Department, donating annually and ensuring that our programs continue to thrive. As dedicated Show Choir parents for three years, they were always present—whether on the road, behind the scenes, or serving wherever needed. Even with their son Ryan working backstage with the crew, Marcia and Anthony cheered for every student as if they were their own. Their volunteer hours, organizational skills, and kindness were vital to the success of the Bishop Luers Show Choir Invitational each year. Their dedication made them not only outstanding parents but also extraordinary representatives of our school.

Their love for the arts extends to the Luers Band, where they have been among its strongest supporters. From organizing the St. Cecilia Honor Band, to coordinating meals, to donating much-needed equipment, they have poured countless efforts into ensuring our musicians had what they needed to succeed.

Beyond the arts, Marcia has been an invaluable member of the Mission Advancement Office. Her creativity, commitment, and tireless energy have helped bring life to events like Bourbon & Bags Bingo, Sip & Shop, and countless others. She has also worked late into the night with the Luers Knight crew, helping set the stage for one of the school’s most important events.

Together, Marcia and Anthony have given Bishop Luers more than just their support—they have given us their love, their joy, and their presence. Their son, Ryan, Class of 2025, reflects that same spirit, proudly carrying forward the legacy his parents have modeled so well.

The Bishop Luers family is deeply grateful for Marcia and Anthony McDowell. We celebrate them today not only for their generous service, but also for the example they set of what it means to be part of the Luers community. Congratulations, Marcia and Anthony!
