Luers Knight 2024 was a blast! Thank you to all who came and made this event such a success. Your generosity really means a lot to everyone here at Bishop Luers. We are thankful to Bishop Rhoades for coming and supporting us with his presence at Luers Knight. Thank you especially to all of our volunteers who made the event run smoothly, in particular, Beth Roskuski, Marsha McDowell, and all of our student volunteers/performers, Mrs. Krouse and Mr. Hanke for providing great entertainment with the Jazz Band and Musical Cast, and our emcee, Justin Dirig. Thank you to the Hubie Ashcraft Trio for their amazing performance to close out the night! Thank you to Doug Stronczek for creating the streetlamps and Rosy and Marcus Daniel for providing amazing decor and a live auction item for us. Thank you to Bishop Luers Broadcasting for creating the Luers Knight video. Some highlights from the evening: - Musical Cast members greeted guests out in the hallways. Gaston, Maurice, and Lefou were escorts for Bishop Rhoades. - BLHS senior Melissa Vazquez shared her testimony. - BLHS and Notre Dame alumnus Jaylon Smith showed up as a surprise and helped auction off the Notre Dame tickets during the live auction. - The Hubie Ashcraft Trio had the crowd up and dancing the night away! #LuersSpirit #LuersKnight2024 #onceaknightalwaysaknight

The Luers Knight Silent Auction is officially open online! 👀👀🎉🎉 Time to bid on your favorite auction items, we have many to choose from this year! You do not need to be present at Luers Knight to participate in the Silent Auction. All funds from Luers Knight go towards the different curricular areas of the school and our Adopt-A-Knight program. Check our IG highlights or visit www.bishopluers.org for the link to participate. Proceeds from some baskets go straight back to that specific BLHS program. For example, there are football and basketball baskets, along with other BLHS academic, sport, and club themed baskets. #LuersSpirit

Today Bishop Luers had a Sodalitas Service Learning Day in the community! Everyone participated in acts of service instead of having normal classes. Locations included Community Harvest Food Bank, Lutheran Life Villages, Christ Child Society, Catholic Charities, several of our feeder schools, and more! The day concluded in the BLHS gymnasium, with the whole school praying a Living Rosary together. We call this a Service Learning day with the acronym of SODALITAS, which means the following: Serve Others with Dignity As we Love and grow in Integrity and Truth Academically and Spiritually Here are some of the feedback we received from those we served today: “Thank you so much for all the help from the Luers kids today! They did an amazing job with clearing leaves and moving chairs for us. With their help, I saved countless hours and an extremely sore back from their help. I look forward to the next time they come to help.” “I have had such great comments about the Luers students here today. They worked hard and the adults that were here today were very impressed. Thank you for organizing them to come help us with our mulch – the church grounds look beautiful!” “Thank you so much for the help today! Everything went better than I had anticipated. They accomplished a lot of things for us and their help was amazing!” “The Luers kids today were awesome! It was so great to have the help; it made such a difference to our organization and saved us so many hours of work. And your kids were so pleasant, polite and full of joy! We can’t wait to have you come back again!” “Your kids today were AWESOME! We had a great crew here working. It was so fun to see several of our St. Therese alums here again. Today one of our students, sophomore Sabrina Donis, received a very special award! The College Board BigFuture program suprised Sabrina by presenting her with a $40,000 college scholarship today. She is one of two students in the nation that received the College Board scholarship this month, after signing up for the program. Congratulations Sabrina! #LuersSpirit
