“What Does Courage Look Like”

Recently in the Advanced 2D Art Class, teacher Mrs. Billingsley gave her students a visual prompt for their weekly sketchbook assignment titled “What Does Courage Look Like”. Bishop Luers sophomore, Allison Renner, thought about what is happening in the world right now and her plans for her own future for inspiration. Allison chose to draw a police officer, more specifically a woman police officer, for this assignment. “Our police officers are on the front lines every day, especially right now, and they need recognition too for all they do for our communities”, Allison shared. She reviewed several photos before deciding on her portrayal of courage. Mrs. Billingsley stated that she is always amazed by what the students come up with, and the talent that comes through in their artwork. Allison, BLHS Class of 2023, hopes to pursue her dream of becoming a police officer herself someday!
