Our Shining Knights – Imani Rhodriquez, Class of 2021
Imani Rhodriquez is winding down her high school years as she prepares to graduate in May. Imani reflected on her four years at Bishop Luers and noted some of her favorite moments- Student Ambassador at Open House in 2017, playing basketball for the Lady Knights, and election to Homecoming Court in 2020. She also took the time to offer her perspective on her experiences at Bishop Luers, and offers sound advice to our underclassmen, particularly the Class of 2025 who will be entering Bishop Luers in the fall.
“I chose to come to Bishop Luers for the good academics, small class sizes, and location- it’s close to home. I have been challenged and pushed to do more in my AP and Honors classes. And that has driven me to push myself. I’ve developed a reverence for God. Before Bishop Luers, I was not involved in church at all. I now go weekly, and I’m connected with God and applying my faith to daily life. And this is something I will take with me. I am ready for whatever college can throw at me!
The sense of family and community provides support and is really beneficial academically and socially. As a freshman you're hesitant, you don’t where you belong. My advice is just be yourself! You will find where you belong! Don’t rush the process, take a step back and give it time. Everything will come together!”
