Congratulations to senior Grace O’Connor on winning the songwriter contest!

Heather's Closet and Locker Room Leaders recently collaborated to create a song-writing contest during Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October). Both organizations work to educate and promote healthy teen dating and prevent domestic violence. The subject ideas for the song were: helping a friend, courage, strength to leave a bad situation, abuse or how it feels.

Grace's song took on the perspectives of the victim, friends, and family of the victim. In an interview Grace says she was inspired to write her song after being in conversations with friends.
