The DAR Good Citizen Award honors one outstanding senior student who demonstrates the qualities held in the highest regard of the DAR organization. These qualities are dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism.
Congratulations to Thomas Schuhler for being named the DAR Citizen of the Award Winner for 2020! Thomas was one of four semi-finalists for the award, along with students Grace Bryant, Sam Hall and Alyse Mack.
Guidance Counselor Becky Allegrini has administered the award at Bishop Luers for many years. She states, "I have attended many of these award ceremonies over the years and I can honestly say after you sit through one of these, you realize just how big an honor this award is because these students who are chosen are truly the best of today’s youth and more importantly – they are chosen by their peers".
Thomas will be signing the National Anthem at the October 23 Varsity Football Section game at Luers Field.
