Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is the largest Business Career and Technical Student Organization in the world. FBLA's goal is to inspire and prepare students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences. Bishop Luers' FBLA Chapter is moderated by faculty member Liane Carroll, and is open to all Bishop Luers High School students!
Student leadership is a key component of this group. Recently, nominations were accepted for the FBLA officer positions. Senior Henry Kiracofe was elected President, Junior Ben Vasell Vice-President, Sophomore Lilly Dippold is Secretary and Treasurer is Dennise Galicia. These students will meet virtually once a month with officer from other FBLA chapters throughout Indiana. FBLA's goals for each chapter include:
The Bishop Luers FBLA Chapter are seeking club growth and winning results at the FBLA State Competition in Indianapolis from March 11-13. Through state-based competition at the spring State Leadership Conferences, students compete in events testing their business knowledge and skills. Top state winners then are eligible to compete for honors at the National Leadership Conference each summer. The events include mock interviews, prepared presentations, objective tests and impromptu speaking.
FBLA also sponsors conferences and seminars for members and advisers. These programs are designed to foster the development of business leadership skills. Each fall, new leaders and advisers from chapters across the nation gather for one of two conferences designed to guide and motivate their success for the year. This includes workshops, seminars, exhibits, and general sessions, as well as the benefit of networking among their peers from other cities and states. FBLA members are invited to attend a Fall Leadership Conference held on November 3 in Indianapolis.
All Bishop Luers High School students are welcome to our FBLA Chapter! Dues are $25.00, and meetings are held during Knight Resource Time twice a month. For more information, contact Liane Carroll at lcarroll@bishopluers.org, or see a member of the student leadership team listed above! Go Knights!
