2014 Honorary Alumna - Jerry and Becky Henry

The Outstanding honorary alumnus for 2014 has been awarded to a couple, Jerry and Becky Henry. Although both of these individuals graduated from Central Catholic High School, they have spent the last twenty-five years dedicated to Bishop Luers High School. The Henrys have sent their five children to Bishop Luers and have remained fully committed to its mission long after their last child graduated.

Mr. Jerry Henry is a successful entrepreneur in Fort Wayne who has made it a priority in his life to serve his community. He is a board member of numerous Fort Wayne agencies, which help others. These include the Urban Enterprise Association, the Carriage House, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and the St. Joseph Community Association. He has been on the Fort Wayne - South Bend Diocesan School Board for three years. Previously, he served two terms on the Bishop Luers School Board, and was a long time member of the school finance committee.

Mrs. Becky Henry, has also spent many hours serving her community and Bishop Luers High School. Currently, she is a dedicated volunteer for Visiting Nurse and Hospice.  When her five children attended Bishop Luers, she was always involved with their extra-curricular activities. This Distinguished Knight worked in the Development Office at Bishop Luers for many years, tireless in her pursuit to help the school thrive and evolve. She chaired LuersKnight from 1992-95.  Even after stepping away from a formal role in the Development Office, she remained just a phone call away if her assistance was ever needed. They have both remained huge supporters of LuersKnight.

Becky and Jerry Henry, known for their generosity, have sponsored the Henry-Keefer Merit Scholarship to Bishop Luers High School for many years. This is a monetary award given to 10 incoming freshman that score the highest on a math and English written exam. They have truly devoted their lives to their family, to their community, and to our school. Their generous spirit has touched many lives.
