Father Bill Sullivan

2014 Outstanding Alumnus - Father Bill Sullivan, Class of 1964

Principal, Tiffany Albertson, is pleased to recognize Father Bill Sullivan, class of 1964 as Bishop Luers 2014 Outstanding alumnus.  Fr. Bill grew up with parents who could ill afford to send children to a Catholic school but still sacrificed to make it happen. He was an honor roll student, three-sport athlete and an active member of Key Club during his time at Bishop Luers High School. Fr. Bill has an extended family whom carried on the Luers tradition, including 4 siblings, and 7 nieces and nephews who are now alumnae.  He has been a faithful servant to the Fort Wayne – South Bend Diocese for over forty-one years and was the first priest ordained from Bishop Luers High School. Fr. Bill serves on Bishop Luers School Board and has helped in a variety of ways to spread the good news of Bishop Luers and the value of a Catholic education.  A classmate, Jim Olsen quotes,

“I always knew Bill was a special person by the way he conducted himself during those trying teen years.  Not that we ever did anything real bad but at that age boys will be boys.  While some of us flirted with trouble (usually on a dumb dare) Bill had much better control, judgment and maturity.  When I later heard that he had dedicated his life to God I was not at all surprised.”
