You will find Pathway specific income eligibility guidelines by clicking on the Pathway your student will use as an entry to the program. If your annual income falls below the amount listed for the number in your household, you may receive some of these funds. The exact amount of your tuition scholarship will be determined by your verified income. We can also tell you that if your student currently qualifies for the state’s Free/Reduced Lunch Program, then they will qualify for a scholarship. We will still need documentation to verify your income and you will need to sign a few forms once we complete the application. It's that easy!
The School Choice Scholarship application process will begin March 1, 2018, and the application deadline will be September 1, 2018. In order to qualify, a student must first be registered and accepted at Bishop Luers. Once accepted, if you believe your student will qualify, you can submit your 2017 tax return for review or contact me to determine if you qualify for this scholarship. If your family does not qualify for the School Choice Voucher Program or an SGO Scholarship award, please consider supporting the program. Individuals and corporations can donate to the SGO of Northeast Indiana and receive tax credit of 50% or more.
Donors should consult their tax advisors to determine tax consequences based upon their particular situation. The SGO of Northeast Indiana is administered by the Catholic Schools Office of the Diocese of Fort Wayne/South Bend. Bishop Luers High School will need to solicit funds for the SGO in order to continue to assist our families in need. A one year award of a minumum of $500 to a Bishop Luers student could then qualify them to continue their remaining years in high school on a Indiana School Choice Voucher.
