Announcements for Monday, Dec. 17, 2018

 
Gavin Dinius is celebrating his birthday today. Happy Birthday!
 
For lunch today we are having Papa John's pizza and milk. We will NOT be offering a salad bar at lunch today. Also there will be no breakfast served on finals days: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
 
Please be aware that tomorrow Tuesday is not a delayed start day. Class starts at 7:45 a.m. sharp!
 
On Thursday, Dec. 20 (last day of finals!), we will have a dress down day. Cost will be $1 and all money will go to assisting St. Joseph’s School.

At 7:20 a.m. on exam days, there will be a short meditation offered in the chapel for students. Please come join us for a little relaxation, focus and Spirit driven time.
 
Mr. Andorfer's Sodalitas group is collecting socks from now until Jan. 30. Please drop them off in the choir room or the bookstore. These socks will be handed out to the homeless.

A word from the maintenance department: Please remove all items from the outside of your locker before winter break so maintenance can touch up the paint.

Attention all football players. The football locker room was cleaned out and anything left in there is now in the
lost and found. Stop by and see if anything is yours!
And all students come and check the lost and found for your missing items too! everything will be donated during Christmas break. The lost and found is located in the Bookstore, Room 115.

Attention AP Government Seniors, time to find Mr. H for the Christmas present on every student's wish list, homework over break. You need to talk to Mr. H before or after school before the end of finals.
 
There will be no NHS meeting this Sunday. If you have not or do not get the “remind me” text see Gabby Miles or one of the board members to learn how to sign up.

The Luers lacrosse team is hosting open conditioning sessions the first week we are back after break. These sessions will be at the AWP Summit Fieldhouse on Rudisill Boulevard starting at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 7, and will be held on Wednesday and Thursday as well. Anyone who is interested in playing for the team or just wants to see what lacrosse is about is invited to join us. There is no obligation or cost. And no experience or equipment is required. Come out and see why lacrosse is the fastest growing NCAA collegiate sport in the country.

Yesterday, visitors from Holy Cross were here to talk with students specifically about their Theology 4+2 program with Notre Dame. Juniors and seniors who are interested in a theology degree and a future as a teacher or lay minister in the Church are encouraged to come and speak with Holy Cross. Please see Mrs. Carlin if you are interested.

Please bring in any gently used blankets to Mr. Elliott’s room, Room 254, between now and Dec. 13. These blankets will be provided to the Rescue Mission shortly before Christmas.”

Attention writers interested in the Scholastic Writing Awards: Due to the high interest in this competition, there will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 3 p.m. in Room 158, Mrs. Schall’s room. This meeting is not mandatory for submission, but topics scheduled include how to submit, what writing tips to consider, and what categories to consider. An informal workshop will follow the meeting for students who wish to work on their pieces. Deadline for submission is Jan. 8.

Attention all art students – anyone who has taken any art classes at Bishop Luers. You may enter the Scholastic competition. See Mrs. Billingsley in Room 134, the art room. All Luers art students, past and present, are welcome. Thank you!
