'A Knight at the Castle' theme for LuersKnight 2017 on April 28

"A Knight at the Castle" is the theme for LuersKnight 2017 on Friday, April 28. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The theme highlights the spring musical "Beauty and the Beast."
The 37th annual dinner and auction opens with cocktails and hors d'overvres at 5:30 p.m. Dinner follows. Cost is $150 per person, cocktail attire, with black tie optional. Arrive through Entrance 3 by the cafeteria.
Silent auction items will utilize an electronic bidding system for any mobile device or iPad. Auction participants should have their device fully charged before the event.

Preview Knight will be Thursday, April 27, from 7-9 p.m. Preview Knight offers a sneak peak of LuersKnight. Admission is $5 per person. The atmosphere is relaxed and includes hors d'oeuvres and beverages. The event is open to the public. Friends, coworkers and family members are welcome to attend. Some items will be up for bid and may be taken home that evening. Enter through the gymnasium doors near the football field.

Help with decorations

Volunteers are needed at the friary (located just west of the gym) to assist in constructing some of the decorations for LuersKnight 2017. The gym will be transformed into the "Castle of the Beast." Volunteers may come for an hour or for the entire shift. The more hands the better! Decoration days are the following: Saturday, March 18, 9 a.m to noon; Sunday, March 19, 2-6 p.m; Saturday, March 25, 9 a.m. to noon. LuersKnight 2017 Gym Workdays

There is much work to be done to get the gym ready for the biggest event of the year and we need you. Mark your calendars now. 

Gym setup:
  • Thursday, April 20, 5-10 p.m.
  • Friday, April 21, 5-10 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 22, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.


Gym teardown - partial
  • Saturday, April 29, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.


Gym teardown - full
  • Monday, May 8, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.


Come for the whole shift(s) or come for just part of it. Bring a friend. We need everybody's help. Bring a drill, ladder and work gloves and join in this grand effort to transform the Bishop Luers gym into the "Castle of the Beast" for this awesome fundraiser. (If you don't have tools, that's okay too - we have lots of tasks that don't require any special tools.) Please feel free to contact Julie Crouch 260-403-8156 or with any questions. 


Volunteers needed

The LuersKnight Committee has met and is ready to roll. LuersKnight will be held Friday, April 28, 2017, with Preview Knight on Thursday, April 27. The theme for this year is "A Knight at the Castle," which highlights our spring musical "Beauty and the Beast." LuersKnight is the largest fundraiser and raises money to support each and every student at Bishop Luers.
This event is solely coordinated by parent volunteers, and additional volunteers are needed to help with this event. 
There are many ways to help:
  • Auction Room
  • Donate items for our Hospitality room
  • Data Entry
  • Picking up auction items
  • Help with decorations
  • Help set up auction booths
  • Work the night of the event: booth workers; carry out, cash out, clean up, help with servers, help with greeters, hospitality room, registration
  • Clean-up on Saturday morning, April 29, and Monday morning, May 1.
Volunteers who can lend their time and talents are asked to contact LuersKnight coordinators. Many hands make light work.

Donations needed for LuersKnight Auction

Bishop Luers is seeking monetary donations or new outdoor furniture, outdoor games and equipment (such as a kayak), gardening items and tools. See Christine Fabina and Becky Kleber to make a donation.

Please return sold raffle tickets to Office of Mission Advancement

Bishop Luers parents are reminded to return their sold LuersKnight raffle tickets to the Office of Mission Advancement as soon as possible. A limited number of tickets are sold. Prizes are the following: grand prize, $5,000; second prize, $3,000; third and fourth prize, $1,000. Sell 10 tickets and get one free. Extra tickets are available by contacting the Office of Mission Advancement, 260-456-1261, Ext. 3142.

LuersKnight 2017


"A Knight at the Castle," is the theme for this year's LuersKnight to be held on April 28, 2017. LuersKnight is the largest fundraiser of the year and generates funds that are used to maintain and update academic programs and to offset general operations and expenses. LuersKnight also provides need-based tuition assistance and helps offset tuition for every student enrolled at the school.



"This event bonds students, faculty, staff, and a multitude of parent volunteers who donate countless hours throughout the school year to make this event possible," said Christine Fabina, co-chair of LuersKnight.


"We want to take this opportunity to thank all the very special people who make LuersKnight such a wonderful night and a true example of the Luers family," Fabina said. "LuersKnight is a huge undertaking."


Julie Crouch, co-chair, said, "We are truly grateful for all the volunteers who come together and share their energy, talents and time. Your efforts are so amazing. The grand success of LuersKnight is due in large part to all your efforts."

Attend LuersKnight

Put together a table of eight or ten friends, family members or alumni and be treated to a fabulous evening with fellow Luers supporters. Tickets are $150 per person. Your generosity and assistance has molded what Luers is today, a spiritually, academically motivated and diverse school that has thrived and will continue to thrive for many years!

Raffle Tickets

LuersKnight has a spectacular cash raffle in which $10,000 in cash prizes are given away to four lucky winners! Tickets are $100 each and only 1500 tickets are sold. The drawing will be held the Monday after LuersKnight (April 25, 2016). 

Get together with your office staff and split your winnings, buy one with your best friend or buy the lucky ticket just for yourself. As an added incentive, anyone selling 10 raffle tickets will receive one free raffle ticket! So call your neighbors or ask your friends and see who would like to be part of this exciting cash raffle.
