Service Opportunity

Students at Bishop Luers High School have the opportunity to be involved with multiple service ministries throughout the year. Student led service projects include fall and spring canned good drives for the Franciscan Center, and the Community Harvest Food Bank. Baby clothes, diapers, and formula are collected yearly during Advent for the Women's Care Center. Lenten service projects include Rice Bowl collections for Catholic Relief Services, Heifer international, and additional canned food drives. Bishop Luers students volunteer in area hospitals, nursing homes, schools, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Scouting, coaching grade school teams, teach in parish religious education programs, and volunteer in many other settings throughout the year, sharing their gifts with young and old alike throughout the Fort Wayne community. In addition, Bishop Luers is proud to have one of the areas outstanding Key Clubs with a high level of student body participation, directed by Ms. Heather Briggs.
Peer Ministry

Bishop Luers High School has a team of fifty students involved in Peer Ministry, from all four classes, who, in response to their Baptismal call, have accepted the invitation to serve the Bishop Luers High School community.

Peer Ministry is open to all students who apply in April for the following school year and who are chosen through a discernment process. Peer ministers serve for one school year. Peer ministers provide a variety of ministries to the school such as liturgical ministers, sacristans, liturgical environment, choir and music ministers, greeters, prayer leaders, servers, and sound and set-up ministers.
