Dear Luers Alumni, Friends and Family,
The Development Committee would like to thank you for your gracious
donation to the Annual Fund Drive. Last year, our committee was charged
with establishing and following up on this annual project. We set a
modest goal of $40,000 as we watched the economy waiver and then
stumble, and yet we knew that our alumni and friends would respond. You
responded and we exceeded our goal! Once again, we say "Thank You!"
Thus far, the money from this year's Annual Fund Drive has been used to
provide new security cameras in several areas of the school along with
repairs to outdoor lighting. Funds were also used to update our
technology department, and outfit a classroom with all new desks and
chairs. Finally, your donations were used to cover the cost of
transportation of donated items to Bishop Luers from a business in
Indianapolis, and, as always, your generosity helped with our ongoing
need for tuition assistance. These projects are chosen based on need and
the desire to provide a safe and effective campus to educate our
children.
If you have read the recent correspondence from Bishop Luers, you know
that the little school on East Paulding Road continues to thrive. The
school has achieved exemplary status for its educational programs. The
Show Choir is second to none. Our sports programs continue to excel and
frankly, if we do not win a State Championship, our athletes are
disappointed. There are clubs and community service projects for every
student. Luers’ diversity is amazing and truly a blessing. All of this
happens in an environment where religious values and morals are not only
taught, but expected from each and every child. Just look at the license
plates as you drive around town. We call it "Luers Spirit!"
The Friday Night Lights are back on and it's easy to see that Bishop
Luers is coming back to life after a much-needed summer vacation. I
still remember the anticipation of returning to school more then 30
years ago. Now, my two oldest children are experiencing these same
feelings that are still vivid for so many of us.
My friends, we have come far and yet we must continue to ask for your
support for the future of Bishop Luers High School. Thank you for your
contribution to this year's fund. In December, we will begin again and
the 2009-2010 Annual Fund Drive will kick off. If you see your friends
and classmates, please remind them to give something to the Annual Fund
Drive. Every little bit truly helps!

We are all called to serve…..
Bishop Luers continues to serve its students by providing a rich
tradition of a Christ centered educational experience. This fund drive
gives you the opportunity to return a financial gift to Bishop Luers and
in turn serve our current and future students as they receive the fine
education, morals and values that you now draw upon in your daily life.
If each alumnus was to give $10 for each year
after graduation, we would raise close to $1,000,000!
