2005-2006 FINANCIAL AID, SCHOLARSHIPS, AND WORK STUDY PROGRAMS

FINANCIAL AID
· Available in the Business Office January 27, 2005
· Registration fee must be paid
· Deadline April 15, 2005
· Must be applied for annually
· For assistance with the financial aid form, and/or information on the FACTS program, plan to attend a working meeting at Luers on Tuesday, March 16.

DIOCESAN LARGE FAMILY FUND is designed to provide financial assistance to Catholic families with three or more children in Catholic elementary and/or high schools.
· Available in Business Office April 12, 2005
· At least one parent must be an active registered member of a Diocesan parish
· Must have 3 or more children attending Diocesan Catholic schools
· Must have applied for financial aid and have paid registration fee
· Must be completed and submitted to the Catholic Schools Office (CSO) by June 15, 2005 (Keep this date in mind to allow enough time for the school and pastor to complete their part of the application before it goes to the CSO.)
· Must be applied for annually

DONALD H. PERREY SCHOLARSHIP
· Available only to incoming freshmen who is a graduate of a Diocesan Catholic grade school
· Available in Business Office January 27, 2005
· Must have applied for financial aid and paid registration
· Student must submit an essay not to exceed 200 words stating why he/she would like to attend Bishop Luers High School and what he hopes to accomplish during those four years
· Deadline May 1, 2005
· Renewable annually

ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP
· Available in the Business Office or Development Office February 1, 2005
· Must be an active registered parishioner of a Catholic church in the Fort Wayne-South Bend Diocese
· One parent must be a Bishop Luers graduate
· Student must submit a short paragraph stating what attending Bishop Luers High School means to them
· Must have applied for financial aid and paid registration
· Must maintain a C+ average
· Deadline May 1, 2005
· Renewable annually

HOPE SCHOLARSHIP
· Available in the Business Office February 1, 2005
· Must be an active registered member of a Catholic church in the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend
· Must apply for Financial Aid and complete the Free and Reduced Lunch program application (available in August)
· Student must maintain a C average or better
· Priority will be given to teachers and other employees in the Diocese and Diocesan schools/parishes
· Parental involvement in parish/schools will be considered
· Deadline April 15, 2005
· Renewable annually

LARRY WEDERTZ MEMORIAL SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP
· Available in Business Office March 1, 2005
· For incoming senior students who are enrolled in a third year science class
· Must have a B average in science
· Must submit an essay that tells how she plans to use science in her career and that tells about her family
· Deadline April 30, 2005
· Two scholarships awarded for student's senior year at Bishop Luers

INDIANA PHYSICAL THERAPY, INC. SCHOLARSHIP
· Available in the Business Office February 1, 2005
· Must be a registered incoming freshman
· Must submit two letters of recommendation from coaches, teachers, community leaders stating personal and academic qualities
· Supply copies of 7th and 8th grade report cards
· Write an essay • Submit six copies of the above information — One master copy and five with your name withheld

2005-2006 WORK STUDY PROGRAM
· $175 school year or $87.50 per semester-tuition credit is applied at the end of each semester
· Submit name to assistant principal at the beginning of each semester
· Must have a study hall in schedule
· Student works one 50 minute study hall a week or ten minutes each day depending on available positions.
