The emphasis of this course work is on the Nicene Cree= d. Principle elements include Trinity, Creation, Incarnation, Paschal Mystery, Holy Spirit, Mary, Eschatology, and the Church. Students will develop a sol= id foundation in catechetical vocabulary necessary for more advanced theologic= al studies. Various forms of prayer will be utilized. Using the writing process, students demonstrate a command of vocabulary, English Language convention, research = and organizational skills, an awareness of the audience, the purpose for writing and style. Peer critiquing is emphasized and rewrites are required. Students have the opportunity to publish their writing in student pu= blications. Advanced composition continues to = build upon the skills developed in composition.

Students concentrate on producing speeches which: (1) inform; (2) entertain; and (3) persuade through the use= of extemporaneous, memorized, and manuscript delivery. THEATER PRODUCTION

Instruction in Theater Production is a co-curricular laboratory for exploration, development, and synthesis of all of the elemen= ts of theater. Practical hands-on experiences in acting, directing, and stage craft are provided through the preparation and public performances of one or more plays. The production of a play supplemen= ts the Theater Arts course that concentrates on theories, information, and techniq= ues, by providing for the integration and implementation of those ideas and skills.
