Bishop Luers Distinguished Knights

  • 2011 Outstanding Alumnus -
    Mark Andorfer, Class of 1981

The 2011 Outstanding Alumnus has truly distinguished himself by working tirelessly for our school. He serves on the Finance Committee, the School Board, and the ABC Board. He co-chairs the Men's Smoker and is an active parent on the Performing Arts Committee. When ones' children are involved in an activity, it is tempting to lean toward what would be good for one's own child. Mark Andorfer's advice, discussions and decisions are always concerned about Bishop Luers High School as a whole. He believes that every outcome should be about making our school better for every student who walks these halls.

  • 2011 Honorary Alumnus -
    Mike Millikan

The 2011 Honorary Alumnus award winner is described as a super star in a quiet way. Mike Millikan "gets it done." Although he graduated from South Side High School, he is a Knight through and through. He is married to a Luers graduate and his five children are also Luers alumni. He has worked tirelessly for our school. He is an active member of our Development Committee and has spent hours refinishing many offices and raising funds to get the parking lot paved. Mike does his work without fanfare. He is also a member of the St. John the Baptist Fort Wayne Parish Council and Facilities Committee and has organized several project improvements at St. John's.

  • 2010 Outstanding Alumnus -
    Mike Egts, Class of 1971

Mike attended college and played football at Taft Junior college and University of Wyoming. He also attended one year at Ball State University. Mike has been coaching at Bishop Luers High School for 32 years. During that time, he has touched more lives than we can name. His love of football is surpassed by his love of the Knights and his love for his Alma Mater. He represents all that we want a Luers grad to be: a man of God, a vocal supporter of our school, a contributor to society and a person of service. Mike exemplifies the type of folks who have walked, do walk and will walk our halls.

  • 2010 Honorary Alumnus -
    Leo Stronczek

Leo has given time, talent, treasures, children and grandchildren to our school. He has worked volleyball games for many years; he served five years on our School Board. His creative ideas have served us well. Leo has painted our halls. He has carpeted our floors. He is tireless in the amount of time that he has given in volunteer hours. Leo is complimentary when he sees the good and he speaks up when he sees something that needs to be corrected. He is a faithful servant to our Catholic Church in that he serves his St. John the Baptist parish as well as serving Bishop Luers High School. He was instrumental in securing many signs around our building that support the mission of our school. Finally, he has worked many hours on our strategic plan and on our Development Committee.
